The Uphall Elementary School in Uphall Road was visited by the Inspectors of Ofsted on February 28, and the findings were made public on March 28.
Ofsted considered that the “outstanding” school in three categories and “good” in two, an important improvement in the previous inspection of the school, where it was labeled as “that requires improvements” in June 2022.
The inspectors described the school as “exceptionally diverse” with “positive relationships between staff, students, parents and caregivers.”
The report added: “Students prosper in the family atmosphere of this enriching school and have an excellent understanding of their moral and social responsibilities, which helps them meet the expectations of leaders with great success.”
He said: “The music offer is exceptional: each student of the school learns to play more than one instrument as they go from simple percussion to the UKELELE and then to the keyboard.
“Weekly and listening assemblies provide an opportunity for students to sing together and appreciate music around the world.”
Many students are involved in the school choir, which takes place every year at the Royal Albert Hall and the O2 Arena.
The report noted that the curriculum has undergone a “significant improvement since the previous inspection” and the school has identified and sequenced the important knowledge, vocabulary and skills that students should learn.
The leaders have “prioritized the most important aspects and verified the impact of their work that has helped to ensure that the changes that have been introduced are well embedded throughout the school.”
Dr. Kulvarn Atwal, main learning leader, said: “As a school community, all of us within the Uphall family are incredible proud that the inspection team recognized the fantastic work that our school does every day.
“There we are a bit disappointed not to have received five outstanding degrees, we are very happy that the significant improvement trip from which we have bone are reflected in the leg in the report.
“In Uphall, we really have an incredibly unique learning community and moving from an improvement to the outstanding is a fantastic achievement.”
The student of the year six, Gheorghe Genza, added: “I am very proud that our school is” outstanding “because we always work hard to do every day and continue to improve.”
