Thallon, from Surrey, was recently praised to star in Hamlet in the 2025 production of the Royal Shakespeare Company, before being chosen for the casting of Harry Potter.
And although Thallon has a series of theater roles under his credit, he is less known to television spectators.
Who is Luke Thallon?
The 29 -year -old made his professional debut in Albion production of Mike Bartlett in Almeida in 2017. This was also the last year at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
He won the Clarence Derwent Award for his performance in Leopoldstadt (2020) by Tom Stoppard, and was nominated for the Evening Standard Emerging Talent Award Award.
Speaking of playing Hamlet for the RSC, he told Deadline: “If you want to honor the role and honor the tradition of previous actors and the quality of their work, you feel great pressure and a great obligation to spend everything you can.”
He also talked about how he would like to do something on the screen in the near future.
Together with his theatrical credits, Thallon has also starred in radio programs that includes a room with a view and the era of anxiety.

Thallon will play Quirinus Quirrell, assuming Ian Hart, who played the character in Harry Potter and the philosopher stone.
Quirinus is the first defense of Harry, Ron and Hermione against the dark art teacher when Hogwarts starts in the first year.
