A spokesman confirmed that the pub will be responsible for the old site of the London dungeon, located in the arches in 50 Tooly Street.
The construction at the scene begged on Monday, March 10, and the official opening is now scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2025, two days before the date previously announced on Thursday, August 28.
JD Wetherpoon submitted a planning application for potential construction to Southwark Council on September 11.
The application, which is still being considered, proposes that the pub would be open seven days a week from 6.30 am to 12.30 am
The impression of an artist reveals how the pub could be seen if the works continue for the pub.
It shows a bright clear neon sign, which says: “Sun Wharf Wetherpoon.”
The space previously housed the London dungeon, an attraction owned by Merlin Entertainments, until 2013.
The attraction then moved to County Hall in South Bank as part of the redevelopment at London Bridge station.
Network Rail had previously complained to Southwark Council that the space was difficult to see.
In 2017, the railway supplier wrote: “The residual facilities provide a very low quality environment.
“The former user (London Dungeon) was something unusual to the extent that the low quality environment was his main attraction.
“The commercial property of NR has not been able to identify other potential D2 users willing to lease the residual space in its current state.”
