A advice in West Sussex has lost more than £ 1 million, its new town hall building is more than half empty.
Crawley Borough Council opened the CREATE building on the boulevard more than two years ago, and 55% of the office space had not been observing.
There were potential profits of £ 2,307,273 per year if all 77,000 square feet (7,154 square meters) or space for commercial tenants were allowed, according to the Local Democracy Reports Service (LDRS).
A Board spokesman said: “We are continuously to explore opportunities with the possible tenants to fill the remaining commercial space in the creation building. It is important that we obtain the appropriate tenants to guarantee the stability of long -term income.”
Between March 2023 and the end of March 2025, 35,000 square feet (3,252 square meters) were allowed, which caused £ 1,260,912, a difference or £ 1,046,361, said the LDRS.
The construction of the nine -story building began in the spring of 2020 and ended at the end of 2022, before it was officially opened in March 2023.
