Galway Portershed organized the latest edition of the listening tour of the founders of Enterprise Ireland, with founders and new companies in western Ireland.
The founders and new companies of the West of Ireland meet in Portershed de Galway on Tuesday (May 20) to share their thoughts with Enterprise Ireland in the regional and national ecosystem, and to offer constructive comments about the most that more COTD is done.
Galway was the second stop on the listening tour of the founders, who sees Enterprise Ireland (EI) traveling to all the regions of Ireland to gather contributions and ideas of the start community, in an initiative that says he reports the road map for his new year. 1,000 new newly created companies.
After starting the tour in your Dublin on May 9, the Galway edition saw a discussion panel with the local founders, followed by a round table consultation provided by David Bowles, managing partner in the performance laboratory, whose covers saw are for that support, and where, and where, and where for them, and where for them, and where are the quotes for them, what can be done.
“It was great to be here in Galway and meet so many founders of western Ireland,” said Conor O’Donovan, head of the beginning and entrepreneurship in EI.
“I think it is the spirit of what we are trying to do here today, the founders know more founders and allow us to listen to them directly, what do you need? How can we improve our services to make Ireland a really world class ecosystem?”
“Today it was really important because you are getting the opinions of the new companies that are going through the trip, some at an early stage, some a little later,” said John Brennan, CEO of Westbic.
“And Being Involved in a start-up can be a diffficult journey. You have to have a thick skin, and you hear a Lot of ‘no’s. After the presentations, the discussion panel saw the local founders Emma Meehan de Kinetikiq (previously precision sports technology), which uses AI to improve the accuracy of training and avoid injuries, and Brandon Blacoe or Byowave, which is done in an accessible way, unique to’n’da’da’da -ane accessible, particular challenges and opportunities to start a business Ireland

Enterprise Ireland plans to gather these comments and the comments of the other regional editions, to help inform your strategy in the coming months and years.
“The founding listening tour is a great initiative to be part of,” said Ann O’dea, CEO and editor in Chief of Silicon Republic, whom he issued and presides over the discussion panel, Silicon Republic is a partner on the tour.
“More than one founder cited the loneliness of entrepreneurship, and the buzz they obtained openly discussing the challenges with other founders today. As co -founder, I can appreciate that very well. So initiatives such as Spike Ics category drive very useful.”
Taking the loneliness from the founder’s trip
Among many of the ideas that come from the group, they were, in fact, more opportunities for the founders to speak and relate to other founders, to get the “loneliness” of the trip. As in Dublin, many also cited early and fast access to advice and skills of experts in areas from finance to taxes, saying that sometimes only a quick response to a small consultation is what is required.
Many asked that the financing system be more collaborative and again cite the idea of a “unique window” to access state financing. The fundamental education for new companies in their first nine months was given, as well as the need for greater support for narrower indigenous companies that do not fall strictly within the egg mission.
As in Dublin, there was a lot of conversation about doing the requirement (business investment scheme): the government’s fiscal rental scheme that encourages private persons to invest in companies in the most competitive initial stage with their counterpart from the United Kingdom.
“It was a pleasure to attend today. We are in the process of becoming a customer of IS, so we were very excited to have the opportunity to take the IS again and see if we could help an Othher founder who are not so far in his Junney,” IPPM (International Management of Pelvic Physiotherapy).
IPPM offers digital pelvic routine programs at home for women and men to completely train pelvic floor muscles from home in Ireland, and is now expanding the United Kingdom markets and the United States.
The next stop on the listening tour of the Founders is the Southeast, organized by Enniscorthy Greenchhq, followed by southwest visits, Midlands, Northwest and Northeast during the next week in Dune Wance. A final event.
While the tour can only reach a representative group of new companies, O’Donovan again EMHASIZED that Egg welcome the feedback of the entire community. The founders and new interested companies that do not participate in the tour and have comments to offer, can also complete the survey of the listening tour of the founders here, if they wish.
