The finalists of the Challenge Cup, Hull Kr, will go to Las Vegas next season to play Leeds while the Super League returns to the United States.
After this year’s success, when Wigan and Warrington will play in the opening game, the couple will be part of the NRL International Expansion event in Allegiant Stadium.
“Sport is about creating memories and moments that last a lifetime. This is one of those moments,” said Hull’s executive president Paul Lakin.
“Playing in Las Vegas, in front of a world audience and one of the greatest internships in sport, is something that players, staff and fans will never forget.
“The opportunity to exhibit Hull Kr on the world stage in Las Vegas is a monumental step for the club.”
Hull Kr chief coach, Willie Peters, whose team was designated as the local team, said it was a measure of club progress.
“I think it is a great indication of where the club is and how far we have arrived, inside and outside the field, being one of the teams selected to represent the English game in Las Vegas,” he said.
The 2025 Las Vegas event reached 3.1billion online impressions and the commercial director of Leeds Rhinos, Rob Oates, said: “Everyone here in the Super League were impressed by the impact that Wigan and Warrington did at the beginning of the year and the challenge now in ‘2.
Rhodri Jones, managing director of RL Commercial, added: “Super League’s first accessory in Las Vegas offered a great peak in profile and glamor for the entire competition.
“It was vital that the two clubs followed the path burning by the Warriors and the Lobos next year would be equally strong representatives of the Super League Betfred and the sport of the Rugby League, and we are sure of the capacity of Hull Kr and Leeds Rhinos.”
