A man has bone accused of murder after a client was stabbed in a bank in Derby City Center.
Haybe Cabdiraxmaan Nur, 47, or Western Road in Derby, has been accused of the murder of Gurvender Johal, 37, who was stabbed inside Lloyds in St Peter’s Street just after 14:30 BST on Tuesday.
Mr. Cabdiraxmaan Nur will appear in the Magistrates Court of Southern Derbanhire later.
Samanatha Shallow, deputy prosecutor of the crown in East Midlands, said: “After a review of the evidence provided by the Derbantshire Police, we have authorized criminal charges in relation to the death of 37 Gurvinder Gurvier.”
She added: “Our thoughts remain with Mr. Johal’s family at this time.”
A second man of about 30 years, who was arrested in relation to the incident, has been released without any other action.
A family friend told the BBC on Wednesday that Mr. Johal was “a Smiler” and “a good friend.”
He said Mr. Johal had just returned to Derby from a family trip to India with his wife, his children and his extended family.
SPT Rebecca Webster, from the Derbantshire police, said: “For the victim’s family, we know that life will never be the same again, and our thinking with them as they begin to deal with their tragic loss.”
